My Birth Way Video Episode 3: Loss in the Month of Pregnancy Loss (@ 4 weeks + 2 days)

Have you ever heard of a chemical pregnancy?

Even if you haven’t, there’s a chance you may have experienced one in your lifetime. A chemical pregnancy is a pregnancy that ends before there is any other “evidence” of the pregnancy except biochemical changes (i.e. increases in chg. levels). You might get a super faint pink line when you take a pregnancy test and implantation bleeding may start. This gets you excited but then you’ll have a period around the time that your period was expected or even a little later. This is what happened to me… I knew that I was pregnant but the pregnancy didn’t last.

Chemical pregnancies can also be considered very early miscarriages, but you might be the only person who was sure of your pregnancy, since it’s likely that you won’t have an appointment with your midwife or doctor before the loss. Chemical pregnancies are way more common than you might expect, although that doesn’t make them less disappointing and sad for you and your family…

My Birth Way Episode 3, Parts 1 and 2, dive into my experience with a chemical pregnancy and the feelings of loss and trying to understand…

Life and love,

Emma
